The Army Officers Golf Society is a 100 year old society made up of serving and retired officers with a passion for golf and social engagement. The Society has an enviable fixture list, and our members are fortunate enough to play at many of the Top 50 Golf Courses in Britain each year.
Our fixtures are open to all members of the Society and everyone is encouraged to put their name forward, regardless of handicap. Each match has a designated Match Manager who is always delighted to hear from anyone interested in playing.
Membership is open to all serving and retired commissioned officers of the British and Commonwealth Armies, including those who served on National Service commissions, and of the Territorial Army, Army Reserve and those serving, or who have served, on Full Time Reserve Service (FTRS) and Non-Regular Permanent Staff (NRPS) appointments.
The AOGS Summer Meeting is our flagship event. This year it was held over 3 days at Rye. In 2026 we visit Silloth-on-Solway in Cumbria, one of the Top 50 courses in the UK and arguably one of the World’s Top 100 best courses. We still play for The Black Watch Challenge Medal, The Royal Indian Army Service Corps Trophy and the Grenadier Guards Challenge Trophy at this meeting, and also run Summer Foursomes and Pairs Stableford competitions.
During the year we play over 20 matches against many of the top clubs and societies in the country. Several matches span over 2 days and include informal social gatherings. We are always looking to add to our golfing calendar and welcome ideas for new events and matches.
Our Autumn Meeting is held at Tidworth Garrison Golf Club. This is a one-day event with Individual Competitions held in the morning and Team Foursomes in the afternoon. All of our matches and meetings provide a wonderful opportunity to play some quality golf and meet old friends and colleagues.
